With the ARB Air Locker differential system, you can control your vehicle's on/off road performance from inside your Jeep with the push of a button. Unlike conventional automatic limited slip and locking differentials, that are always engaged, the air locker does not have any adverse affects on tires, drive-line components or handling when "unlocked" for highway operation. This patented locking differential system is easy to use.
The ARB system utilizes compressed air to smoothly engage a locking gear within a specially designed differential case. In as little as one-tenth of a second, you will have full power transmitted to all wheels, enabling you to take on tough obstacles with ease.
The POWERTRAX® TRACTION SYSTEM is the latest design in traction adding differential technology. It combines smooth operation with the traction performance of a locking differential. The legendary Detroit Locker® began the revolution in performance differentials and still leads the industry today. The Detroit Locker is one of the most durable and dependable locking differential available. The Detroit Locker maximizes traction by delivering 100% of the torque to both drive wheels. It is engineered to keep both wheels in a constant drive mode, and has the ability to automatically allow wheel speed differentiation when required.
Also available is the Detroit SofLocker™. The Detroit SofLocker™ employs a pre-load spring pack to keep the drive and driven members engaged and dampens this noise. The pre-load does not affect the speed differentiation function when required while turning corners. The Detroit SofLocker™ provides the same performance of the Detroit Locker with reduced noise.
The Detroit Truetrac® was the first gear type limited slip differential in the industry. The patented design of parallel axis planetary helical gears provide a quiet, automatic splitting of torque. Power transfer goes literally unnoticed by the driver - even in front wheel drive axles.
